salter-ek2408-coffee-maker-to-go-personal-filter-coffee-machine-reusable-filter-includes-420-ml-stainless-steel-travel-cup-700-w-single-serve-coffee-in-3-4-minutes-uses-ground-or-coffee-pads-6958.jpgThere's no universally-fit-all SWAN Programmable Coffee Maker 0.75L in Black machine. We've put together our top choices, ranging from a superautomatic machine that grinds your beans and packs them into a semiautomatic which gives you the most control over your espresso.

The Breville Oracle Touch achieves the perfect balance between automation and the need to be able to master the art of espresso-making. This is our top choice for a bean-to-cup machine.

1. Rocket Appartamento

Rocket Appartamento is a great option for those who want to make espresso at home without having to compromise on quality. This small-footprint espresso machine was specifically designed for people with small counter space. It is built to last and has excellent quality and a small footprint. It comes with a 1.8-liter copper heat exchange boiler and commercial E61 group head so you can steam milk and make espresso simultaneously.

The machine also looks great and has a circular insert on the side panel with the steam engraved and hot water spouts. This is a fresh update on Rocket's classic aesthetic that is already impressive for a compact machine. It also comes with an black pressure gauge that will let you know when the boiler is ready for use.

One disadvantage of this tiny machine is that the drip tray and water reservoir are smaller than most other machines. You will need be cautious when emptying and refilling the machine. This is particularly true if you use it frequently. This is a trade-off that is a result of having smaller footprint. This is not an issue that is specific to this model.

This machine is able to handle your coffee needs. However, we would recommend investing in a good grinder, like the Baratza Sette Gigante, for increased consistency and flavor. You can also use this machine in conjunction with an Rocket portafilter to help improve the tamping process.

As a prosumer espresso machine, the Rocket Appartamento is capable of making great drinks, and is easy to make latte art. It's important to note that this machine is not designed for beginners. There is a small learning curve for those who upgrade from appliances-grade espresso machines. The heat exchange boiler may be a little tricky to manage and you'll need to master the basics of cooling flushes.

Both the Lelit Bianca as well as the Rocket Appartamento have the option to connect to a water source, allowing you to always be capable of drinking cold and filter-filtered water. The latter model has a smaller 2.25-liter tank that is difficult to refill.

2. Lavazza A Modo Mio Jolie

This machine is built to Lavazza's highest standards. The machine reaches the brewing temperature quickly, meaning you can make your first cup in less than 35 second. The water tank is also fast and easy to refill, with the lid detaching completely to make a wide opening. You can fill it up with tap water, if you like.

This is the smallest machine in the Lavazza A Modo Mio range however, it still has a lot of punch. When you buy it at full cost, it's less than PS100 which is lower than the Nespresso Essenza and similar machines from SMEG and Desea. This makes the Jolie a great option for those without the budget or space for an espresso maker, but who would like to experience the pleasure of real Italian espresso.

The Jolie is easy to use and requires little counter space. Pressing a single button will begin the process. When you press it again, it will start dispensing the pod you have selected. There's a backlight that's on the button, so you can clearly see how much has been dispensed, and you can stop the process at any time should you prefer to drink the pod in smaller amounts.

There's no steam wand included on this model, however you can use an optional milk frother (available separately) to add some creamy froth, if you'd like. The machine is quite quiet, too, and can be used in a small workspace or in a flatshare kitchen without disturbing others.

They're not inexpensive, but there's a wide variety of blends to suit everyone from the mildest to the most demanding espresso drinkers. They are readily available in many supermarkets, along with regular cheapest coffee machines beans and ground coffee and you can also buy Lavazza A Modo Mio compatible pods on the internet.

The Jolie and Milk is a stylish capsule machine that has an integrated milk warmer and a frother. It comes with a 75cm plug and power cable, a warranty document, a quick guide, and a test pack of nine Lavazza pods. Six are roasts (two Qualita Rossa and two Lungo Dolce) and two are decaffeinated. The machine itself is small enough to be able to be stowed on the floor or placed under the cabinet.

3. Breville BES870XL

The Breville Barista Express appears to be an expensive espresso machine. If you're willing and able to master it, then this is a fantastic home espresso maker. It performs better than most of the more expensive models. It's an excellent price for the class and is particularly helpful for those who are new to the field and don't own an espresso machine that costs up to $100.

This model sits right in the middle of the range for Breville (their Oracle is the most expensive model at $2,199), but it's still a solid choice for home baristas who are on a tight budget. It's loaded with options to customize and features, including an integrated burr mill to make it more affordable. It's also a single boiler machine that means it can only be used for steaming or brewing at one time.

Although it is a relatively newcomer to the espresso machine market, Breville has quickly made their mark with their high-quality appliances. This machine is no exception and has enough adjustability to allow aspiring baristas to improve their skills without spending hundreds of dollars more than they should.

The unit is not without its quirks. For instance, the hopper in this model is located on the side of the unit, instead of on top--which isn't an issue however it can be a little annoying if you're trying dispense multiple shots at once. It's also difficult to determine how much water remains in the tank because of its rear position.

If you're willing some time in learning how to make use of the Breville Barista Express then it's an excellent choice for any coffee lover at home. The only downside to the Breville Barista Express is the price which could be a deterrent for some buyers. For those looking for a less expensive alternative, read our review of the Gaggia Classic or the La Pavoni Impresso. Both machines are similar in capability and offer a little more control than the Barista Express. However, they cost less than the price.

4. OXO Brew 9-Cup

A high-tech, smart coffee maker that produces great coffee using a simple interface. The sleek stainless steel design and backlit LED screen gives your kitchen a sophisticated appearance. It has one dial to set how many cups you want it to make and includes a 2-4 cup setting as well as a 5-9 cup setting. Its brewing process is similar to pour over that many coffee enthusiasts believe makes the most delicious coffee. The water is heated up to the perfect temperature and then poured evenly over the coffee grounds using a shower head. The coffee is then brewed inside the double-walled thermal carafe for up to 60 minutes. The pause-and-pour function lets you to take the carafe out while brewing and fill your cup. The machine pauses brewing and displays a red carafe light on its LED interface until you return it. It then resumes and finishes brewing.

The OXO 9-Cup coffee maker comes SCAA certified, which means that it meets the organization’s strict standards in terms of technology. The brew cycle is longer than the Bodum BISTRO and the Technivorm Moccamaster KBT 741, however, it has more control over temperature, brewing duration, and quality.

In our tests in our tests, the OXO Brew 9 Cup produced an excellent pot of drip coffee that filled the carafe filled in 7 minutes 41 seconds. This is a bit longer than the 6 minutes or less the Bonavita Connoisseur and the Moccamaster require, but it falls within the range that experts in the field recommend for a great cup of drip.

It also requires that you grind your own beans prior to brewing. You can use a manual coffee grinder, or opt for a more automatic model like the Baratza Encore, which has various grind settings as well as the hopper can hold entire beans.

The only drawback is that the carafe and the water reservoir aren't dishwasher-safe this could be a hassle for some users. The stainless steel is still easily cleaned by hand, however. The OXO 9-Cup is an excellent contender for the best drip coffee maker because of its sleek design and simple to use interface.
